At Southern Converters we’d always recommend careful handling of fine art papers and delicate films. After a decade in business and with over eighty years’ converting experience among the team here, we know that the least little scuff or abrasion can prove a big headache for customers. If the substrate is substandard, it doesn’t matter how brilliant your print production facility is – the flaws show up. And this is particularly true when you’re trying to cut large sheets from delicate media – between one and three metres, up to two and four metres, let’s say. As the sheet size is increases the potential for problems seems to grow in about the same proportion. But we’re the experts – at Southern Converters it’s our job is to convert problems into challenges, and challenges into solutions! So, to take a specific example, when a customer asked us to convert large sheets of delicate surfaced paper and board into sheets measuring 1.24 x2.8m, we were confident we knew how to handle the job. Southern Converters are proud to announce that we are now the new central distributor for Innova Art products. As part of a long running relationship we have been converting Innova Art digital papers for many years and now, as part of a recently established business partnership, we are the international distribution Centre for Innova Art products. Now that we are in our new 54,000 sq ft facility we are able to store all of the products from Innova Art’s portfolio as well as pack and ship each item to their customers. Innova Art reaches a new milestone at its international distribution centre in Andover, after completing and dispatching over 100 pallets of customers’ orders in a single week. Orders were sent out to Innova Art customers across the UK, Europe, America and the Far East.
Following months of preparation and planning Southern Converters are pleased to announce we are now the central distribution point for all Innova products. After the careful co-ordination of moving stock from Essex to Andover without any disruption to the order process Southern Converters now provides Innova Art with all its production, warehousing and distribution requirements from our 54,000 sq ft facitity in Hampshire, UK. The newly renovated storage area has space for over 2,000 pallets as well as an area for storing smaller packs of paper. Mike Ramos-Gonzalez, Director of Innova Art, said ‘It’s great to see all the stock under one roof, we celebrated ten years of Innova this year and this is a sign that we have developed into a more streamline version of the company, preserving our aims and creating a bright future for us as well as our associates at Southern Converters’.
In conjunction with the work taking place to make Southern Converters the central distribution point for all Innova Art products, we have just welcomed two new members of the team. Jason Baird has joined the production department while David Holmes has joined the warehouse team to pick, pack and dispatch all Innova orders. Graeme Ackroyd, Operations Manager for Innova Art, commented ‘this just brings us another step closer to being able to consolidate all the distribution for Innova into just one location’.
Following trials using the Innova Art paper product IFA25 Southern Converters have perfected the process of cutting and scoring digital papers without any damage to the coating and ensuring easy feeding through a desktop printer. As part of the on-going development of our facility in Andover, Hampshire Southern Converter have just invested in a 2.2m wide Cameron slitting line, this now allows us to handle materials up to 2.2m in width. In addition to our other converting equipment the Cameron slitter will take pride of place on the production floor and be maintained and operated by our expert team. Building on an established business relationship Southern Converters are pleased to announce a new partnership with Innova Art Ltd. As part of a wider growth strategy for the brands under the Innova Art name Southern Converters have relocated to a new 54,000 sq ft facility situated on the busy Walworth Business Park in Andover. Throughout the next year the facility will be undergoing a major refit to establish dedicated production and storage areas enabling us to provide our highest ever levels of service. Using the wealth of converting knowledge supplied by John Walker and the wider Southern Converters team Innova Art will be adding their own specialist personnel to the site over the coming year, with a view to making Andover the international production and distribution centre for Innova Art and all the associated brands.
